The Fiasco Fiasco

The word was out. The Wolf full moon fiasco would leave the rear parking lot of Pub 99 at 8PM. It had rained most of the day but was down to an occasional drizzle by ride time. 8:15 no one had shown. Maybe they were out front. A ride around the perimiter of the pub found no one.

By 8:30 it was obvious that no one was going to show. Again. The long slow ride home, head hanging down, pouted lower lip, seemed colder and wetter that the happier anticipation filled ride to the lot.

Fortunately Avia has a wonderful selection of wines and I happen to have a nice Cabernet in stock. Soon, my sorrows were gone.

TFBC Fairhaven will ride again.

Can a "Bike Club" have only one member?

"remove toung from cheek here".

  1. Bummer about the ride turnout. Maybe more people would show if the wine stage came before the ride stage. Then everyone could ride warm and happy through the night.

  2. Bummer indeed. Maybe Jonah's onto something: start with the drinks and then ride.

I'm sure you'll get some people to join you once the weather improves. Not everyone is crazy enough to ride through the winter!

  3. My Monday night group ride was the same way. Just me. That's all.

Although I didn't hang my head in shame and ride home... well, I did, but not before I put some miles on taking the long way around Johnson County.

  4. Bummer about the no shows :( Sounds like it still ended on a good note though, with a little help. I do think that a club can have only one member. I would think that as long as your are planning events and inviting others to join you, its a club...even if they don't show up.
