It Seemed Kind of Hot

Red Flag=Storm Warning

Early in the ride I happened to glance at my bike computer and saw the temperature was 103F.  It certainly didn't feel that hot, but it also cooled very quickly as I approached the ocean.

Again I backed out of riding to Fall River and instead decided on the Dartmouth, Ma route.  Even though the thermometer said it was very hot, I didn't feel it at all on the bike.  I stopped  for ice cream in Padanaram (paid nair' um) and heard two women speak what I though was Arabic.  I learned a couple of years ago not to speak in another language until I'm sure what it is.  I really offended a man during a hike when I asked if he was Lebanese.  He was from Israel and looked like he was ready to fight over my statement.  These two were also from Israel and I gave them my best  "ma shalom"

The ride continued on to the peninsula in New Bedford which added another 8 or nine miles.  Over all it was a good day to ride a bike.  Heavy rains tonight and tomorrow will allow me to catch up on some reading. And maybe clean the garage.

  1. Strange weather we're having! I dislike the fact that it is really hot/humid in the morning, and when I usually go out to ride, in the afternoon, it rains. Today the temperature is perfect for me, but it is raining! Hopefully if it stops in the afternoon, I might go out.
By the way, I love the pics in your blog!

  2. Looks like a beautiful day for a ride, despite the heat. Heat bothers me a lot sometimes, especially in the hills, but it sounds like you handled it well.

I love the photos, especially the wildflowers and the water shots.

About your comment, I never thought I'd ride 100 miles, either. I bet you could build up to it, if you wanted to. You already ride frequently, you would just have to gradually build up to longer and longer rides. It's hard work, but a lot of fun, too!

  3. By the way, I enjoyed seeing the map, too!

  4. Flag is for shellfish not storms me thinks

  5. Good fill someone in on and this mail helped me alot in my college assignement. Say thank you you as your information.
